Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood has eleven playable characters. Each of these characters is equipped with unique attack skills. Sonic performs whirlwinds by encircling the enemies and releases a powerful blow on them through wind attack. Sonic and Tails has the ability to perform a powerful spinball to injure the enemy. There are forty Chaos in the game. Chao can give you a special benefit when you are team up with another character in the battle. Chao egg will become hatched in a short time after you have collected it. Barbo allows a bonded character to have a higher HP. Belgog protect the bonded character so that they become harder to get injured. Bepke will make an assault against the bonded team instead of the foes. Blayze and Cheezlet bring more harm than good in the battle. Bobo always attempt to look for a bonus reward after the battle. Cheese will help the team members to be more fortunate. Cheezlet, Hayda, Stebsly, and Joy reestablish the bonded character to the beginning of the battle round. Choopaloo help you to get higher XP in the battle. Churdle helps the team members to hit the foe accurately. Dusty help you to catch an enemy. Ferox is a bonded character that increases the POW moves.

Fess makes the Chao eggs to hatch into a good egg. Ghise causes water damae. Gibber is a bonded character that prevents damage. Griff can perform ice damage on the foe. Hirna can formulate a earth shield to defend against damages. Kayla reduces the possibility of the team members to be ambushed by the enemies. Keroyo increase the chances of the enemies to surrender and run away during a fight. Knickt can formulate a shield of lighting to ward off the damages. Korus formulates a shield of fire to ward off damages. Luunan and Oolean helps the bonded character to have more PP. Ovyd revives a bonded character during a battle. Perty formulates water shield to ward off damage. Pyraz can perform fire damage. Radu Greatly increases maximum HP of bonded character. Rugle is a bonded character that increases the fate. Seeri can perform wind damage. Spartoi cause immediate KO against enemies. Stiglin’s attacks damage the earth. Velk has stronger resistance against damage. Zimba performs lightning damage. Zousar helps the team to ambush the enemies.

There are five Eggman devices. One is located in the Swatbot near the Eggman base, one can be obtained by returning the storekeeper’s stapler, another is obtained after you conquered the cave scorpions, and two in the Mystic Ruins.

In the Olympic Trivia, you are required to follow the sequence in the lower screen by tapping the jewels on the upper screen. The sequence of the jewels becomes more complicated as you proceed to higher levels. You only have to score 5 points to proceed to the next level. In Modern Olympic Games, you are required to throw the green shell towards the opponents located on top of the screen. In Beijing 2008 game, you will be finding three different cards. In the Ancient Olympic Games, you are required to control a aircraft and use it to accumulate as many golden rings as possible. In About Athletes game, you must separate the enemies in the continuous loop and move them to the proper box. As you complete each of the mini game, you will be able to unlock and hear new theme song that originates from the Sonic and Mario games.

Silver the Hedgehog who came from the future partner along with Espio to save Chao. Espio and Silver work together to probe on the missing Chao.

There are 4 single player modes in Sonic Rivals 2. The main single player mode is a game in story mode. In order to proceed to the plot, you must complete the game battle mode. There are 3 acts in each zone. Each zone has its own boss. The first and third acts are races whereas the second act is a battle. The races are integrated into the story mode. Some of the stages can be skipped based on the chosen character.

The characters are groups into four teams including Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails, Shadow Sonic and Metal Sonic, Silver and Espio and Knuckles the red Echidna and Rouge the bat. Sonic Rivals 2 have a Free Play mode which allows players to choose any 8 characters and play in the 2D game mode. Players can also choose Time Attacking in the levels. The first mode doesn’t have any enemies to fight. In the Cup Circuit and Single Event modes, players obtain the cards by finishing the races and battle. There are more than 150 cards that you can collect throughout the game. Each card is rewarded with a specific achievement. The Mephiles the Dark card is obtained when you achieve a S-Rank in Knockout Mode. The cards can be used to unlock a suit. In addition, the card can be used to unlock Cup Circuits and Chao Detectors. The Battle Mode consists of 6 racing competition. The length time of the race can be configured through the selection menus. In the Knockout mode, the player will begin with 3 rings. In order to win the game, the players must knock all the rings from their rivals and then make an assault on them to win the game. In the Rings Battle, players are required to accumulate as many rings as possible within a set period. The player that collect the most rings will be declared as the winner. In Capture the Chao, the players are required to obtain the specified number of Chao from their enemy’s camp and return them to their own Chao in order to win. In the Laps Race, players are required to finish a specified number of laps to win the game.
